ABOUT

Audrey is a composer, arranger and songwriter currently based in Manchester. She is currently a Masters student at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) studying composition under Adam Gorb and Gary Carpenter; she also did her music composition undergraduate degree at the RNCM with Steven Daverson. She grew up playing classical music on the piano and clarinet, which introduced her to the art of composition and shaped her process of music making; she is particularly influenced by programmatic music from the Romantic Period and the 20th Century. Jazz and pop are also genres that Audrey greatly appreciates, which she explored through playing the guitar, singing and arranging songs. Her music evokes her calm, sincere, and imaginative musical language as well as reveals her adoration for people and their stories.

Audrey had her first world premiere in September 2022, which was performed by the KANTOS Choir, and performed in a songwriter circle in July 2022 with other artists and songwriters from the UK. Since then, she has worked with the BBC Philharmonic, a Manchester based collective Gey Teal on a commissioned clarinet solo piece in the summer of 2023 and students from the RNCM on a commissioned trumpet and piano piece in January 2024 and has world premieres in all. Audrey is currently working on a choral piece, which will be workshopped by the BBC Singers in February 2024.
