A Promised Return (2024)

A Promised Return depicts the remnant as God’s remnant. The harmonies, that bring uneasiness and tension, in addition to the repetition and development of ideas, that bring a sense of wandering and waiting, all depict my musical interpretation of the remnant. The conversation between the trumpet and the piano are sluggish at first but gradually builds up to the final chord of the piece, which marks the arrival of the Promised Return.

Premiered on the 18th January 2024 in the RNCM Concert Hall

The Pillar of Cloud and Fire (2024)

The Pillar of Cloud and Fire depicts the sublime and powerful nature of God as He guides His people out of Egypt through pillars of two of our world’s nature: cloud and fire - this is vividly illustrated through the combination of mysterious, calm, majestic and vigorous moments.

Set to be premiered on the 1st May 2024 in the RNCM Concert Hall

Our Lord (2024)

Our Lord is inspired by the nature of God depicted in Psalm 8:3-5, 9 and celebrates His power, generosity and grace through the pretty harmonies and lyrical melodic lines. It starts off with a simple exchange between the sopranos and the altos to convey angels singing up above which then leads into the tenor part, and the rest of the choral piece, to portray humans looking up above doing the same, in awe of the beauty of God.

Workshopped with the BBC Singers in Maida Vale, London
